Description:

The mission of the Monroe County Office of the District Attorney is to seek justice in the enforcement of the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, to work closely with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in preventing and controlling crime, seek just punishment for those guilty of unlawful behavior, and to ensure the fair and impartial administration of justice.  We strive to build a stronger office through recruitment efforts and to maintain the highest standards of professional and ethical requirements.

The Victim / Witness Coordinator supervises, directs, and evaluates employees in the Victim and Witness Services division of the District Attorney’s Office who are responsible to assist victims and witnesses of crimes by informing them of their rights, providing information regarding their court cases, notifying them of prisoner releases, and providing counseling and assistance as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED supplemented by college level course work or vocational training in sociology, criminal justice planning, or other related courses as well as three (3) to five (5) years previous experience and training that includes social work, crisis intervention counseling, or related criminal justice work; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
