Suspect in Idaho quadruple murder arrested in Monroe County

The Monroe County District Attorney’s Office and the Pennsylvania State Police assisted the Federal Bureau of Investigation and law enforcement agencies from the County of Latah, State of Idaho, and the Idaho State Police to secure the arrest of Bryan C. Kohberger, date of birth 11/21/1994, for his role in the murders of four (4) college students who had been residing at a residence in Moscow, Idaho.

Investigators from Idaho contacted the Pennsylvania State Police to request assistance with the apprehension of a suspect in an ongoing homicide investigation.  With assistance from the District Attorney’s Office, search warrants were obtained for the residence of Kohberger located at 119 Lamsden Drive, Albrightsville (Chestnuthill Township), Monroe County, a vehicle registered to Kohberger, and his person.  Once the arrest warrant was issued out of Latah County, Idaho, the Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team was activated and a plan put in place to apprehend the subject.

Kohberger was arrested without incident at approximately 0145 hours on Friday, December 20, 2022, and lodged on a Pennsylvania Criminal Complaint as a fugitive from justice.  He was arraigned before the Honorable Judge Michael Muth and is currently housed in the Monroe County Correctional Facility without bail.
