Roslyn Schroeder, the East Central Representative for the ‘Pennsylvania Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve’ presented awards today to District Attorney E. David Christine, Jr. and First Assistant Michael Mancuso for their support of Assistant District Attorney David Marra’s service as a Captain in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. Over the past two years ADA Marra has been involved in multiple state active duty missions as well as a recent month long training exercise in the Mojave Desert.
With approximately 15,000 members, the Pennsylvania Army National Guard (PAARNG), a reserve component of the United States Army, plays an important role in the nation’s defense and in supporting the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in times of need.
The organization, EMPLOYER SUPPORT OF THE GUARD AND RESERVE (ESGR), is a Department of Defense office, established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee’s military commitment. ESGR is supported by a network of more than 3,000 volunteers in 54 committees located across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam-CNMI (Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands), Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Volunteers, hailing from small business and industry, government, education, and prior military service bring a vast wealth of experience to assist in serving employers, Service members, and their families. Together with Headquarters ESGR staff and a small cadre of support staff for each State Committee, volunteers work to promote and enhance employer support for military service in the Guard and Reserve.
District Attorney E. David Christine, Jr., and First Assistant Michael Mancuso received special recognition and an award for their personal support of Captain Dave Marra’s service in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.
