Detectives from the Monroe County Office of the District Attorney, Criminal Investigation Division (CID), arrested and charged Nicholas John Taylor, 23, of Polk Township, with child pornography and related offenses Monday afternoon.

In late April and early May, CID detectives received multiple tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reporting an individual uploading photographs and videos containing child pornography to Google Photos, Dropbox, and Instagram.  The reported files showed children as young as five (5) or six (6) years old engaged in various sexual acts with adults.

Detectives eventually identified the responsible individual as Nicholas John Taylor, 23, of Robinhood Lakes in Polk Township.  A search of Taylor’s cell phone revealed additional files of child pornography as well as sexually explicit social media chats with girls as young as fourteen (14) years old.

Taylor was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Daniel Kresge and incarcerated in lieu of $100,00 bail.  His preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for Friday, July 23, 2021, at 10:00 am before Magisterial District Judge Colleen Mancuso.
