Justin David Gomez, 23, of East Stroudsburg Borough, was arrested today on child pornography charges following a several month long investigation by County Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division of the Monroe County Office of the District Attorney.
In August, detectives received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children concerning a Dropbox account that was being used to store child pornography. That Dropbox account, which detectives were able to connect to Gomez, contained several pictures of children, some as young as four (4) years old, engaged in sex acts with adults.
Earlier this morning, County Detectives and officers from the Stroud Area Regional Police Department arrived at Gomez’s Spangenburg Avenue home armed with a search warrant. Gomez, who was home at the time, admitted to detectives that it was his Dropbox account which had been reported but he denied knowing about the child pornography.
Gomez is charged with several felonies, including possession of child pornography and criminal use of communication facility.
Gomez was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Michael Muth of East Stroudsburg and remanded to the Monroe County Correctional Facility on $10,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at 10:00 am.
